Ahead of next month’s elections, Dutch politicians will look into the possibility of leaving the European single currency in a desperate bid to wrestle power from Geert Wilder and his Party for Freedom.
The move comes the anti-Brussels leader Mr Wilders, who is leading in the polls, promises to hold a referendum on euro membership if he wins.
The Christian Democrats tabled the motion calling for the eurozone inquiry.
Pieter Omtzigt MP said: “The problems with the euro have not been solved.
