    Maybe a 50-80% market correction will finally disrupt people's worship of the illuminati rectangles in their pocket?

    This video also unknowingly reveals something interesting about the Soviet Union: it was actually a state capitalist economy (think a giant corporation the size of a nation), and just like the United States right now (whose GDP is 66% consumer spending, as Christopher points out), it's own GDP was nearly two-thirds dependent on consumer spending in 1990 (60%).

    How this is relevant: Is the Soviet Union therefore a predictor of the economic destiny of the United States?
